Posted On May 19, 2012Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: "State Supreme Court Justice Joan Orie Melvin on Friday denied any criminal wrongdoing and said she will not resign from the bench. Justice Melvin, 56, spoke after being arraigned on nine criminal charges filed against her for allegedly using her judicial staff to campaign for the high court from 2003 to 2009."

On May 19, 1962, at a birthday salute to President Kennedy at Madison Square Garden, Marilyn Monroe famously sings “Happy Birthday, Mr. President.” It is one of her last major public appearances. The movie star dies less than three months later on August 5, 1962.
